What is QR compensation code of the fuel injector and what does it do?

Many injectors have a compensation code (or correction code, QR code, IMA code, etc.) composed of a series of numbers and letters, such as: Delphi 3301D has a 16-digit compensation code, 5301D has a 20-digit compensation code, Denso 6222 There are 30-bit compensation codes, Bosch’s 0445110317 and 0445110293 are 7-bit compensation codes, etc.

 

The QR code on the injector, the ECU gives an offset signal to the injector working under different working conditions according to this compensation code, which is used to improve the correction accuracy of the fuel injector under each working condition. The QR code contains the correction data in the injector, which is written into the engine controller. The QR code greatly increases the number of fuel injection quantity correction points, thereby greatly improving the injection quantity accuracy. In fact, the essence is to use software to correct errors in hardware manufacturing. Machining errors inevitably exist in mechanical manufacturing, resulting in errors in the injection quantity of each working point of the finished injector. If the machining method is used to correct the error, it will inevitably lead to an increase in cost and a decrease in output.

The QR code technology is to use the inherent advantages of the Euro III electronic control technology to write the QR code into the ECU to correct the fuel injection pulse width of each working point of the fuel injector, and finally achieve the same all fuel injection parameters of the engine. It ensures the consistency of the work of each cylinder of the engine and the reduction of emissions.

 

 

What are the benefits of a device generating a QR compensation code?

As we all know, the maintenance of the injector mainly consists of two systems.

First: adjusting the air gap spacing is to adjust the thickness of each gasket;

Second: adjust the power-on time of the injector.

 

The adjustment of the fuel injector by the QR compensation code is done by changing the length of the electrical signal. Unlike our adjustment of the internal gasket, for some fuel injectors whose adjustment is qualified but not very accurate, we can generate a new QR code. The compensation code is used to fine-tune the fuel injection volume of the injector, so that the fuel injection volume of each cylinder is more balanced. For some inconsistencies in the amount of injection, it will inevitably lead to insufficient engine power, or black smoke, increased fuel consumption, and heavy local heat load of the engine, resulting in failures such as piston top burning. Therefore, in the maintenance process of the Euro III electronically controlled diesel engine, we must face up to the problem of QR code correction. When replacing a new injector, a professional device must be used to write the QR code. If you use a repaired fuel injector, because the original QR code has been pre-injected by the fuel injector, idle speed, medium speed or high speed has little deviation from the standard value, so you don’t need to replace anything, just use the new compensation produced by professional equipment After entering the code into the ECU through the decoder, the previous problems such as smoke and cylinder knocking can be solved.
